Q: What are signs that my computer has a virus?
A: Common signs include slow performance, pop-up ads, new toolbars, suspicious programs you don’t remember installing, and unexpected behavior like freezing or crashing.
Q: Can you remove all types of malware?
A: Yes—we remove viruses, spyware, adware, trojans, and other malicious software. If a system is severely damaged, we’ll explain your options.
Q: How long does this service take?
A: Most malware removals take 60 to 90 minutes depending on the severity. The initial service includes up to 60 minutes; any additional time is billed at our standard hourly rate. We’ll notify you before proceeding if more time is needed.
Q: Will I lose any of my files?
A: No. Our goal is to remove threats without affecting your personal files. If we find a threat affecting your files, we’ll discuss it with you before taking action.
Q: What happens if the virus comes back?
A: We’ll advise you on steps to stay protected and may recommend upgrading your security software. If it returns due to reinfection or missed threats, we’ll offer follow-up support.
Q: Can you install antivirus software for me?
A: Yes—we’ll install, update, and configure your antivirus program and teach you how to use it to scan regularly and stay protected.
Q: What if I already have antivirus?
A: We’ll evaluate its performance, check for conflicts, and recommend changes if your current software isn’t doing the job.
Q: Do you work on both Macs and PCs?
A: Yes—while Windows systems are more commonly targeted, we also remove malware from Apple Macs and install protection tools on both platforms.
Q: Can this be done remotely?
A: In many cases, yes. If your computer is still functional and online, we can perform the removal remotely. If not, we recommend an in-person visit.
